Psalm 24 (musical version)

Psalm 24:0 (musical version)

1. YHWH’s is the earth and all that fills it,
all of the humans who dwell therein.
2. He has laid its foundation upon the seas,
planted it firm on ocean’s swell.

3. But. . .
which of them dare climb YHWH’s mountain?
has the right to stand in his sacred space?

4. One
with blameless behaviour and motives pure,
who has not paid homage to worthless gods,
nor taken an oath with intent to deceive.
5. Such will receive the blessing of YHWH,
acquittal from the God who delivers him.
6. Such are the people who earnestly seek him,
who seek the face of your God, O Jacob.

           * Chill out until that sinks in!

7. Gates raise your arches,
rise, ancient doors,
welcome the glorious King!

8. Who is this glorious king?
Who is this glorious king?

YHWH the strong, YHWH the mighty,
YHWH victorious in war!

9. Gates raise your arches,
rise, ancient doors,
welcome the glorious King!

10. Who is this glorious king?
Who is this glorious king?

He is YHWH Sabaoth, Lord of hosts,
Commander of all of heaven’s troops.
He is the glorious King.

          * Chill out until all that sinks in!

Psalm 15:0 (musical version)

1. YHWH,
who has the right to enter your tent,
to live with you on your holy hill?

2. The one who lives without blame,
always doing what’s right;

loyally speaks from the heart,
3. ne’er says a treacherous word;

never acquaintance defrauds,
never slanders a friend;

4. treats the blackguard with scorn;
honours all fearers of God;

keeps promise, though hurtful to him
will never go back on his word;

5. takes no interest on loans
no bribes against innocent ones.

The one who so lives will stand firm
all his life long . . . evermore.
